Roundwood Solutions was founded in 1994 in South Australia’s green triangle – one of Australia’s most significant softwood plantation regions. Over 25 years, a trusted timber treatment operation was built serving farmers, vignerons, and rural supply networks across SA and VIC. In 2020, a significant investment was made to build a lower-impact timber treatment operation using Tanalith®-K technology – producing timber with no heavy metals, inherent fire resistance, and a closed-loop Biochar process on 37 hectares of freehold land at Tantanoola, strategically positioned at the heart of the green triangle.
From our 37-hectare facility at Tantanoola, South Australia, Roundwood Solutions operates three connected businesses.
Treated all the way through using our Q-Process, Roundwood Solutions Treated Timber is inherently fire resistant, contains no heavy metals, and is safer to handle. With an expected service life of 25+ years, it’s built for Australian farms, vineyards, and rural infrastructure – and distributed nationally through leading rural supply networks.
Operating a large-scale commercial Biochar operation, we transform sustainably sourced recycled timber and our own treatment waste into soil-regenerating Biochar that sequesters carbon in the ground for centuries – reducing fertiliser and water requirements and returning value to Australian soil.
Our Biochar operation is progressing toward full verification through Puro.earth. Once verified, every tonne of Biochar produced generates a CO₂ Reduction Certificate (CORC) – traded on NASDAQ and representing permanently sequestered carbon that organisations can purchase to meet verified net-zero commitments.
